The lines for most Roller Coasters are pretty long. For little kid rides, they aren't so long, and for regular rides, ( like the caterpillar and the mine of lost souls ) can be long depending on the day.

Hershey park has kiddie rides, family rides, and a lot of rides for thrill seekers too. Great Adventure on the other hand isn't as much for the family. It is in a metropolitan area, so there are metal detectors at the entrance. There is only like 3 spots with kiddie rides. In my opinion though I like the roller coasters at Great Adventure better. If you want to get on the more popular rides like Kingda Ka, get there 45 minutes or more before the opening. Then dash for the popular ride you want to get on and expect an at least 15 minute wait. If you walk to the ride the wait will be about 25 minutes. On nice days the lines get really long and the waits are like 2 hours. That's why my Dad and I go on cold days where less people go. Overall, Great Adventure is a park for kids 11 and up, who want to go on intense rides. Hershey has a bigger variety and is great for all ages.

One person can stay with the child who is too small to ride the ride while the rest of the party rides. When the ride is over, the "babysitter" can ride with others from the party while another adult stays with the small child. Some people in the party can end up getting two rides with this system. It only works for rides which have a minimum height requirement and, of course, you do need a small child to take advantage of this strategy.

What attracts you about Universal Studios?
I've been to universal studios in Orlando, and it's great. It's large and it's rides are thrilling and eye catching, its not as little kiddish as most theme parks, kids of all ages and kids at hearts will enjoy the rides, and adults can always wait on a bench. The food is priced reasonably and it's good. Universal also has it's sister park , islands of adventure next to it which is great too if you have enough money to visit both of them. Overall, it's just a must see park.
