Carbon dioxide makes very little contribution to acid rain. The carbonic acid formed when CO2 dissolves in the rain is extremely weak and CO2 is actually at very low concentrations in the atmosphere compared to oxygen and nitrogen. The primary culprits in acid rain are sulfer and nitrogen compounds emitted from fossil fuel burning and from volcanic eruptions. Volcanic eruptions can also emit significant quantities of other acid rain forming substances. Things that contribute to Acid rain is mostly HNO3 (Hydronitrogen trioxide). Hope this helped ya :)

Yes, most definitely! Acid rain is the acidification of water, which is caused when toxins such as carbon dioxide and sulphur dioxide (which are released by burning fossil fuels) react chemically with the water to lower the pH and create carbonic or sulphuric acid.
