This depends on what kind of pool you have. If it's a permanent pool, such as one set in concrete, no that will not hurt it. If it is an inflatable pool, than yes, leaving it outside when it is not full could eventually cause damage.
No. Do not leave you pool empty during the winter. Numerous problems are caued by draining the pool and leaving it empty. The best way I can think of to answer your question is with this "Disclaimer" we have to use. DRAIN AND ACID WASH DISCLOSURE STATEMENT AND ACKNOWLEDGMENT (Rev. 11/04) DRAINING AND/OR ACID WASH TREATMENT OF A SWIMMING POOL
Yes. It could kill them.
Yes, plaster will dry out and crack.
Trick question. The pool is empty but the drain is open. With an open drain, the pool will never fill, unless the water entering exceeds the water draining.True,-----------> 20 hours
The first thing you have to look out for is that there isn't to much ground water out side the pool say when its raining or just after rain. because water may be able to build up under the pool and lift it up out of it proper position.
No nothing to worry about I have trees at the down hill side of pool and they cop heaps of chlorine water and are thriving.
No it doesn't hurt, but it's not necessary. New Answer... The most importiant thing regarding draining your pool is that you make sure that it is not empty long. Here is Las Vegas, when the temperature gets over 90 degrees, I refuse to leave any pool dry for more then one day (drain at night, do the work the next morning and start filling it up immediately). With a peddle tech pool it is not quite as critical as with an older plaster pool, but still the 24 hour rule is a good one to stick with.
It shouldn't after all the top of the pebble tech pool is out of the water forever and it doesn't seem to hurt it. However be careful that you don't get a build up of ground water around the outside of the pool, This can cause an empty pool to start floating and that will definitely hurt it. If you have a hydro static valve at the bottom that works it should be ok.
When draining a pool take care that there isn't enough ground water around the outside of the pool to lift it out of position, even a concrete pool will float on ground water. and once they are lifted out of the ground you are in big trouble.
More and likely yes, the sun would dry the tiles out may cause the grout to pop off, crack,
Empty it out or place it in someone else's pool if that person's is empty at the time.
Most states have laws about how and where to drain pool water. You will need to check with your local authority (possibly county office). There is a product you can buy at any pool store that neutralizes the chlorine if your government prohibits it's discharge.
