Earth's landforms appear only on continents, unless they are being looked at from an underwater view as well as an on land view. Some maps show both, while some only show continental landforms.

There are actually 5 major continents: Africa, Europe, Asia, America, and Oceania. The concept of 7 continents is more commonly taught in English-speaking countries, where Europe and Asia are considered separate continents. However, it is also common to group them together as the continent of Eurasia.
Wegner developed this theory not only because many continents appear to fit together like a jigsaw, but also because he had fossil and climate evidence to support the fact that the continents once fit together.

Are you thinking of "plate tectonics"? This process changes landforms, but doesn't create them. The only process that creates land is volcanic outflow.
continents can't have another continent on them them and there are only 7 continents
