Best Answer

Coffee should be frozen because technology today has made frozen coffee and people enjoy it. And if you don't like frozen coffee, pop it in the microwave and there you go, a cup of hot, steamy coffee.

It is a matter of personal opinion. Everyone has different tastes.

Frozen foods are supposed to be fresh, because the freshness is "locked" in the product. However keeping it for too long after defrosting can cause it to taste stale.

At the end of the day, it depends on the person. One previous contributor said:

No, frozen milk will taste horrible. I can tell just by the taste if milk has been frozen. It is a true abomination.

Are there chemicals in freeze dried coffee?

There are plenty of crazy stories out there about chemicals added to freeze dried coffee. There is no reason for anything to be added to coffee when it is freeze dried; the entire point of freeze drying is that it preserves the product naturally. The process is: they make some coffee; they freeze it; they dry it. In short, whatever chemicals are in freeze dried coffee are only those - and exactly the same as those - found in "fresh" coffee.

How does freeze-dried coffee differ from standard instant coffee?

There are two main ways of producing instant coffee - freeze drying and spray drying. In freeze-drying, brewed coffee is frozen into granules, which are then placed in vacuum chamber, where the water sublimates (evaporates w/o liquifaction). In spray-drying, brewed coffee is sprayed in tower and dried by hot air in the matter of seconds. Freeze dried instant coffee advantage: higher quality product, better preserved flavor. Spray dried instant coffee advantages: faster and cheaper.

Why do coffee freeze?

I am assuming you are asking why would you freeze your coffee... You would freeze it to lock the flavor in and keep it from going "bad". As coffee ages it releases gases. These gasses are where the flavor is. The more you save (freezing) the better it tastes. This works to a certain point as it only slows the process and does not stop it. There is also discussion as to if the freezing process alters the taste of the coffee.

Ingredients of coffee powder?

Should you freeze coffee beans?

Absolutely NOT. Freezing coffee breaks down the oils naturally in the beans. Coffee is very porous and will absorb moisture, and other flavors such as "freezer burn." Your coffee should never be stored in the freezer or the fridge. Keeping it away from air is the key. In a well sealed container, in a dark cabinet at room temperature, your coffee will stay it's freshest!!
