The action was played out in the residences of nobles and the meeting places of witches. Among the nobility were the Duke and Duchess; and the Lord Governor. Isabella was the Lord Governor's niece and Antonio's wife. Francisca was Antonio's sister. Gaspero and Hermio were Antonio's servants.Sebastianwas contracted to Isabella.
