Closest volcano is Dotsero in North Western Colorado. It is a 700 m wide by 400 m deep maar volcano located near the junction of the Colorado River and the Eagle River. It is classified as a scoria cone with evaporitic rock, basaltic tephra, and oxidized sandstone. Erupting approximately 4200 years ago, it is the youngest volcano in Colorado.

At one point yes, The Watchung Mountains are said to be created by Volcanic activity.

Rutan Hill, as the moutain is known by, or street name - VOLCANIC HILL in Wantage, NJ, was once an ancient volcano. The only extant dormant volcano sites in the state. The peak of the volcano is private property. If you do visit the area, respect property lines.

That would have to be the SuperVolcano lying under Wyoming in the Snake River plain.

The Yellowstone Volcano Observatory report of February 1, 2011 clearly states that were FIFTY-SEVEN earthquakes during the month of January 2011 in the Yellowstone National Park region.

The good news is that the largest was a 2.4 magnitude, and there were no "earhquake swarms".

The current Volcano Alert Level is GREEN.
