Yes, it is necessary to attend real estat school to obtain a license. Different states have different requirements, but you can usually attend online classes or a physical school.
However, there are certain states who [in terms or license renewal] who does not require an individual to take online classes rather just pass their required documents to the state department of real estate, pay corresponding fees, and their licensed will be renewed and will be delivered into their mailing address, online, or right at the day they applied for it. However, individuals are interviewed and not just given a renewal certification.

∙ 14y agoFor California I recently read online that all you have to do is pass the real estate exam. There are websites that can prepare you for the exam for a minimal fee.
You'll need to attend at least some training in every state to become a Realtor. Once completed, you can take the test.
