Over 20km/h NO, the park gear is just a pin that slides into a slot on the heavier duty trannies it's more of a claw; but the principle still stands if the slots are moving fast enough the pin/claw can't penetrate and all you get is terrible noise. At lower speeds it can catch but cause terrible damage if there's too much momentum.Mythbusters did this one, hummed like crazy but the Taurus still didn't stop.
Have your alternator tested. They will sometimes do that when they are putting out low outputs at low rpm.
Erratic RPMs while driving or in park could be due to a faulty oxygen sensor. It is also possible that poor gas is being used.
no i do it all the time with cars whithout brakes. try it ill make this crazy loud sound
No.
Nothing. It will keep on driving. There is a safety on the gear that will not enable it to be activated while in movement. It may destroy your gear though.
I would love to know the answer to this one. Mine does it all the time. Sometimes while driving. Usually only at low speeds or on decell and stops.
while you are in park? That should be normal. While in gear or driving, no that isn't.
Youd probably be safer to at least pull off the road and park.
Omaha Driving Park was created in 1875.
