The salt water in a pool is usually less salty than the ocean, which swimmers all over the world regularly frequent. The amount of salt swallowed during normal pool activity is comparatively small. However, ingesting large anounts of any salt solution can lead to digestive problems (emesis, diarrhea), and pool water may harbor other contaminants as well.
