The digestive system PROCESSESES all matter that is put into it but it does not TRANSPORT nutrients, medication or bad matter through out the human body. The circulatory or blood system receives the filtered product and takes them to the necessary areas of the body that needs the nutrients, oxygen, water, medications and even the "baddies" like too much cholesterol or other fats or alcohol or other negative matter.

the nutrients from the digested food are dissolved in the blood, and they carry those to all the parts of the body. This is stored mostly in the form of glucose, and the cellular respiration in our cells release energy.
