Saturated fatty acids have no double bonds and therefore no 'kinks' in their structures. These would mean that these fatty acids can pack more closely than unsaturated fatty acids and cause the membrane to be LESS fluid.

Because of the kinks in the carbon chains at the cis double bonds of unsaturated fatty acids, the glycerophospholipids do not fit closely together. As a result, the lipid bilayer is not a rigid, fixed structure, but one that is dynamic and fluid like.

Yes especially if you get your fatty acids from Omega-3. Saturated fats are solid at room temperature while unsaturated fats are liquid.

Your cells use fats to build cell walls. If they use saturated fats the cell walls are solid making it difficult for cells to absorb nutrients and discharge waste.

Cells using unsaturated fatty acids to make their cell walls are more flexible and allow for nutrients and wastes to be absorbed and discharged easier.

Yes, as you increase the percentage of unsaturated fatty acids in the phospholipids, the membrane can stay fluid at colder temperatures.

What is the lipids that contain the maximum number of carbon and hydrogen possible?

A saturated hydrocarbon. Fats of a solider nature.

Is acetylene a saturated hydrocarbon?

It is a saturated hydrocarbon. This because it contains the maximum number of hydrogen required to bind with the carbon atoms present in the compound

What is any natural number and 0?

N : Numbers which are greater than 0(1,2,3...) are known as natural number sets. Number sets which contains 0(eg 0,1,2,3...) are whole numbers.

What is the difference between a hard beam and a soft beam?

A hard beam is one that contains a greater number of high energy photons than low energy photons.A soft beam is one that contains a greater number of low energy photons that high energy photons.During the filtration of a heterogenous beam (one that contains photons with different energies), low energy photons are removed from the beam, effectively "hardening" it.

Does a nucleus have the same number of protons and electrons?

The nucleus of an atom contains only protons and neutrons; there are never any electrons in the nucleus. The number of neutrons is generally equal to or greater than the number of protons.

Why is fat considered Saturated?

A fatty acid is saturated when it contains the maximum number of hydrogen atoms along it's chain. There are no kinks aka. double bonds between any of the carbon atoms. A fatty acid that is unsaturated has double bonds and therefore is not saturated with a maximum number of hydrogen atoms.

Which is greate .4 or .9?

.9 is greater. Look at the first number after the decimal point -if it is greater, the number is greater. if the number is the same, go to the next decimal point; if it is greater, the number is greater; etc.

Do saturated fatty acids have the maximum number of hydrogen atoms?

It depends on the length of the fatty acid chain. A fatty acid that has the maximum number of hydrogen atoms is saturated. The maximum number of hydrogen atoms will occur when the carbon atoms are all single-bonded to one another (no double bonds).

What is a quotient?

A quotient is the result of dividing two numbers. If we divide one number into another number, the result is the quotient. It might be argued that the quotient is the ratio of two numbers, but what has been stated applies.
