Is what is being called Tungsten jewelry actually the ceramic compound Tungsten Carbide or is there actual metallic Tungsten jewelry out there?
Tungsten jewelry is metallic. My husband and I have matching tungsten carbide rings with a mirror finsih. We have gotten so many compliments on them! The rings are super resistant to scratches. Some believe the only thing that can really scratch them is a diamond. We really enjoy our rings as they are heavy and we do not have to worry about them when we are doing things that many take jewelry off to do. There is a wedding band material called ceramic. It is not tungsten carbide. Ceramic comes in several colors and the most popular is black. What's great about ceramic rings is that the color is the same all the way through and is highly scratch resistant. This means that in the highly unlikely event that a black ceramic ring does scratch, the scratch will not be as apparent. Tungsten Carbide can be made into jewelry and is a metal. You can also combine these 2 materials together to make a highly scratch resistant and colorful ring.
