When a car runs, it produces heat as a wasted product. This heat is then used to heat up air and blow it at you. This heat will be created even when the heater is off, so using the heater should not lower gas mileage.
A bad thermostat can cause a decrease in gas mileage. If the thermostat is stuck open, the engine will tend to run cold. Not only will this result in a perpetually low temperature gauge reading and poorly performing heater. It will also cause the ECU to richen the mixture, since the engine will appear to be warming up to the ECU. This will result in poor gas mileage. Replacing the thermostat will allow the engine to fully warm up, which will restore gas mileage as well as heater performance.
It can decrease your mileage by 75%.
yes, but will decrease fuel mileage a little, may not be noticeable, and will help with noise and leaks too...
No, it will decrease gas mileage.
Roof racks themselves have a negligible effect on gas mileage.
Yes
Posi?ætraction does not improve gas mileage nor does it decrease gas mileage. The traction does not come into play in less the pavement is wet.
No it will not give you better performance or increase gas mileage. Gas mileage and performance will decrease only if you use it. leaving it off is like not having it at all.
To do what? If driving about the same as the posted city mileage. If hauling it would decrease based on the weight of what you're pulling.
When performance and fuel mileage decrease.
Not necessarily. The wrong heat range plug can decrease mileage. As the AC/Delco is a excellent plug, I would just install the OEM GM plug. I would also use OEM filters as the AC/Delco oil filter is top rated.
Don't use air conditioner or heater, roll windows down, and don't put stuff on top of the car (like a car top carrier).
