Power (Watts)/ Decibels (if the speaker is efficient)

2 Watts = 93 decibels

4 Watts = 96 decibels

8 Watts = 99 decibels

16 Watts = 102 decibels

32 Watts = 105 decibels

64 Watts = 108 decibels

128 Watts = 111 decibels

256 Watts = 114 decibels

512 Watts= 117 decibels

1024 Watts = 120 decibels

Some Volumes to Compare

10 decibels = normal human breathing

60 decibels = normal human conversation

110 decibels = power saw, car horn, shouting in ear,

120 decibels = jet aircraft close by, emergency vehicle siren, rock concert

What measures the volume of electrons through a circuit?

Current measures the flow of electrons through a circuit and voltage basically measure the amount of available electrons.

Is a voltage and current source the same thing?

Voltage source inverters use the dc voltage (e.g a capacitor in parallel) as a source while the current source inverer (inductor in series) use the dc current as a source. Please note that voltage can not be changed abruptly in capacitor as current can not be changed abruptly in inductor.

What is the need of extra high voltage transmission?

You want to deliver power as efficiently as possible. For the same input power, the higher the voltage, the lower the current required. The lower the current, the lower the ohmic power loss (R * I^2) during power transmission in the electric cable.Answerallows the use of conductors of practicable sizeeconomics (less volume of copper)reduce voltage drop along linereduce energy losses along line

How is voltage different than electrical current?

Voltage is the cause and current is its effect. Voltage is the potential difference between two points. When charges flow due to this potential difference, we say that current is flowing.Voltage and current can be compared to a water reservoir with tubes connected to the outlet, the reservoir is the supply. Now, voltage is compared to the pressure of the water at the outlet of the reservoir, and current compared to the the volume of the water that flows through the tubes, the thicker and shorter the tubes, the less the resistance and larger the volume of water passing through the tubes. To measure voltage, a volt meter is connected across the output terminals of the supply; to measure current (in units of amperes), one of the wires connecting a circuit to to the supply is cut, and a ammeter is connected to the two ends; or if there is a switch in the circuit it can be switched off, and the current can be measured across the terminals of the switch. The best way to measure current is by using a clamp type ammeter.Voltage (sometimes called electric potential difference) is the electrical driving force set up by an electric potential difference. There are several ways to create an electric potential difference, but in any case, it is voltage that causes current flow if there is some kind of circuit or current path to support the flow. Current or current flow is the actual movement of electrons through the branches of a circuit when voltage (the "motivational force" that causes current flow) is applied.---

What does electrolytic capacitor do?

The same thing as any other capacitor does (i.e. oppose changes in the voltage across it) except:it has much greater capacitance per volume than other capacitorshas higher leakage current than other capacitorsis polarized when all other capacitors are unpolarized

Does wattage affect the sound of an amp apart from volume?

An amplifier amplifies the input voltage. That gives you more volume.

What is the difference between voltage and current. Explain practically?

Voltage can be compared with the level to which the tap is opened. (Volume of water) Current can be compared with the speed at which water flows from tap. (Flow of water).

I just found out my behringer lx110 guitar amp is only 4 ohms does that mean i can't really have it loud or the speaker will blow?

No. Now for a slightley longer answer. I'm not sure of your' knowledge so here goes. Ohm is a word meaning electrical resistance. In a speaker there are 3 important values, voltage, current and resistance. In your' amp current and resistance are constant, they don't change. As volume increases so will the voltage of the "power" going into the speaker. Be assured that your' "stock" amp will survive higher volumes. Realize that the louder you go, the more "gain" you'll get. This dirty sound is to be expected.

How do you mute an apple laptop?

The Mute key on the current laptops can be found on the top row of keys to the right hand side. The key with a speaker with three lines radiating from it will increase the volume. The key with the speaker and a single line will decrease the volume and the key with a speaker with no lines will mute the volume. Muting can also be set in the Sound section of System Preferences.

Why is my Mobile phone speaker volume too low?

Your mobile phone speaker volume may be too low if the volume settings within the phone are set too low or the speaker is failing. Water and dirt can also obstruct a speaker and limit its output.

Does increasing volume on a radio set increases current?

Yes. Increasing volume means the speakers have to work harder. Harder work means more output power. More output power can only be done by using more input power. More input power can be done EITHER by increasing current, OR increasing voltage. And the way most appliances and our distribution network is designed means that the voltage stays the same and the current is increased.

What does the variable resistor do in a circuit?

It is used to vary the voltage/current flow in a circuit.

What the function of speaker?

A speaker is an audio output device that is used to relay sound from a source. The speaker's volume can be controlled from the source.

What device turns up the volume?

You can use the speaker, if you have one, or the On-screen volume control.

What are some sentences using the word volume?

The volume of the container was very small.... or The volume of the speaker was extremely loud!
