Wavelength is a measure of depth/distance - namely the distance between peaks or troughs in a wave. For light this is referring to peaks/troughs of signal strength. Because the front velocity of a photon of light is always constant (ALWAYS, WITH RESPECT TO ALL FRAMES OF REFERENCE IN THE UNIVERSE, NO EXCEPTIONS), the wavelength of a photon is also a direct measure of it's energy.

Can you measure distance by volume?

yes

How many millilitres are in a centimeter?

The units are incompatible. Centimetres measure linear distance, millilitres measure volume.

What is the difference between millimeters and centimeters?

Millimeter is a length or distance measure. Cubic centimeter is a volume measure. There is no conversion possible. Distance is no volume.

If Lake Erie has a water volume is 484 km how much energy would be required to raise its temperature of 1 degree Celsius?

I suppose that you think to cubic kilometres. The needed energy is 484.10e12 calories.

What is 48 kilometers in liters?

Kilometres is a measure of distance, litres is a measure of volume.

How would you measure the distance of the door meters or liters?

You would measure the distance of the door with meters because liters measure volume not length.

How many yards are in a quart?

None. Yards measure distance and quarts measure volume.

What is the volume of 6 milimeters?

impossible to say. Millimeters is a measure of distance - it has no volume. There is no translation between length and volume.

How many liters are in a mile?

A liter is a measure of volume. A mile is a measure of distance. These two units are incomparable.
