Yes, but on a minor scale. It's not enough to do serious damage. Unless smoked regularly.

∙ 11y agoTechnically none. You place a layer of protection around the cell, in essence rendering it useless until the effect wears off. Hence the term "dope". The cells wake back up after the protection wears off. Usually around 3-5 days after you stop.

∙ 14y agoKilling brain cells is not a pre-requisite for getting `high.' Marijuana contains a chemical which substitutes for a natural brain chemical, with a few differences. This chemical touches special `buttons' on brain cells called `receptors.' Essentially, marijuana `tickles' brain cells.
The legal drug alcohol also tickles brain cells, but it will damage and kill them by producing toxins (poisons) and sometimes mini-seizures. Also, some drugs will wear out the buttons which they push, but marijuana does not.
Scientific studies have proven that marijuana can actually protect brain cells.

∙ 13y agoNone. No correlation has been found between marijuana use and brain damage. It's generally assumed that weed makes you stupider simply because those who are high all the time generally act slower, but that's simply because when you're high all the time, you're obviously still feeling the effects of the drug. Get at them in a day or two of being sober and see what they act like then.

no weed does not kill brain cells. but if u do find a way to loose them u do loss them permanently there the only kind of cell that does not regenerate.
No, I'd imagine that weed is much worse.
you could kill enough brain cells to end up in a vegitative state with RIDICULOUS amounts of weed, but if you killed ALL your brain cells you would die.
No that is not true. There have been no studies that prove Marijuana kills brain cells.
The drug marijuana is said to kill brain cells. This does not mean that a person becomes dumb, it just means that they do not have as many brain cells available to them.
no cheese does not kill brain cells
weed does not help your brain what so ever....i personally think that while im stoned, im smart.....but that's only based on my opinion....but if you smoke too much, you eventually will kill off brain cells.
weed doesnt kill braincells and if your too paranoid about killing brain cells then stay away from all drugs in general=) Haha weed doesn't kill brain cells, quite the opposite: It offers neuroprotection, meaning it protects nerves and brain cells. There is also some evidence that it may facilitate brain cell development. The US DHS confirms the scientific research that marijuana can be used as a neuroprotectant and antioxidant, it hold the patent to these uses patent no. 6630507
smoke blunts and get high...hell no it doesnt kill brain cells, i smoke weed all day, everyday and get A's in school. jus make sure to take breaths between tokes! gotta get that fresh o2 No. The study that attempted to spread this false idea that marijuana kills brain cells was horribly botched and part of a smear campaign against hemp. The "experiment" was essentially suffocating monkeys with marijuana smoke (they were hooked up to masks for extremely long periods of time and received no oxygen thusly). Suffocation kills brain cells, THC does not. There is actually some evidence to suggest that marijuana is beneficial to the health of neurons.
No - but your brain cells do!!
Ink does not directly kill brain cells. However, the metals and toxins in ink can kill brain and other cells and is not good for the body or your health as a whole.
