Yes it does that's why when yo go to get a spare key made it will cost 30.00 it is there for security purposes
Cant Its in the computer that runs the engine The vats system can be bypassed by matching the resistance in the key chip.
I have a 94 Z28 Chevy camaro and the question please give detaild insrtuctions on how to intall a performance chip.
A chip won't work in a 97, you have to reprogram the computer with a new program.
follow your big hose at the end of your ratiator that goes to your motor where the hose meets the motor is the thermostate its 2 bolts that you need deep well socots for and the computer chip is located inside the computer under your hood
you cant its computer controlled. the only way is to get a performance CPU chip
Its a programmable chip inside of the key .
Nope
The chip is located inside the ECM (engine control module). There is an access cover on the ECM that will expose the chip. A special tool is used to r & r the chip as not to damage the prongs.
1it should cuz my 87 r10 has a computer in it
It has an ECU which contains memory chips.
NO. Not even close.
If your key has the anti-theft chip on it, the best (and likely only) place would be a Chevrolet dealer.
