Typically, for alcohol withdrawal, any kind of benzodiazapine like Ativan (lorazepam) Klonopin (clonazepam) Valium (diazepam) Xanax (alprazolam) or Temazepam. They have similar effects to alcohol and when tapered are very, very useful for surviving the shakes. All are tolerated well and are very safe.
Cutoffs: 4mg xanax, 25mg valium, 4mg ativan, 6mg klonopin
Then wait an hour or two, and take ONE extra if needed.

And I assume you mean the shakes, because DTs are actually different- its a withdrawal-caused psychotic episode and the person would need to be taken to the hospital immediately. Very scary. The shakes are (obviously) involuntary muscle movements (primarily hands or wrists) wth severe anxiety.
Heroin: Subutex or Suboxone, Methadone if severe. I'm not going to give you quantities because heroin withdrawal should not be attempted without supervision from a professional or extremely experienced person as it is very dangerous.
Cocaine/Meth: Wellbutrin XL (bupropion or budeprion) 300-450mg XL depending on severity. Probably 450.
Hallucinogenic Panic (Bad Trips): Seroquel (Quetiapine fumarate)(200-400mg, depending on severity), high dose Zyprexa (20mg), haloperidol, or any other strong atypical antipsychotic. Important to have the person lying down because they WILL fall asleep and may experience a drop in blood pressure which could result in fainting. Do NOT use a hypnotic such as ambien or lunesta. You'd be in for a LONG night as a trip sitter, but setting up a video camera might not be a bad idea... lol.
