There are no duties of a deaconess in the apostolic church, because there were never any women appointed . Stephen was a man, and in The Bible it reads the deacon must be the husband of one wife. So show me how a woman can become something the Bible does not teach?

As for women being in the ranks of Deaconesses. There are several deaconesses in the Bible Old & New Testament. It is an very old & incorrect doctrine that womenn are not appointed in the ranks as ministers, deacons or pastor's. We have a long way to go when it comes to a position in the traditional mind set of a man or woman. We need to take a closer look at the position and duties as well as the person. How dare we place tradition above what God has already ordained to be in his kingdom or vineyard. I object to such tradition when it hits home as pertaining to a women being any of the positions in a church. Research your Bible and other places for a true understanding of what God really meant by... (Must be one husband to a wife) So to speak- God meant those that have a desire and are inspired by God can be in any position as long as they are TRUE TO GOD AND NOT MAN!!!

I am open for any retorts, attitudes, misunderstands and so forth..

During the mass, deacons have an auxiliary role. Essentially, their duties include the reading of the scripture and possibly a homily afterwards, although the priest may perform this himself. The deacon may also aid in the distribution of the Eucharist.
