Best Answer

Most diode voltage stays negative and linear with temperature effects. To combat the temperature, current must remain steady within the diode, and it should not heat with that applied current.

What happens when the temperature of a forward biased diode is increased?

What happens depends on the temperature coefficient of the diode. If that diode has a positive temperature coefficient, it resistance increases with increased temperature. A diode with a negative temperature coefficient does the opposite.

What is the temperature of germanium diode compare to silicon diode?

How does the ac resistance of a diode change as the voltage increases?

When the voltage increases the temperature in the diode also increases. When the temperature in the diode increases, the resistance decreases.

What is more referred to use si diode or a ge diode?

silicon diode is preferred more when compared with germanium diode because in silicon diode the operating voltage is 0.7v where as in germanium diode the operating voltage is 0.3v , germanium is temperature sensitive so it can be easily destroyed by increasing temperature hence silicon diode is preferred more

For zener diode the temperature coefficient is?

positve

What is the effect of diode voltage drop as the output voltage?

The effect of diode voltage drop as the output voltage is that the input voltage will not be totally transferred to the output because power loss in the diode . The output voltage will then be given by: vout=(vin)-(the diode voltage drop).

Effect of putting a leaked diode in a circuit?

The effect is quite simple, to be honest. When putting a leaked diode in a circuit, it will cause the other ones to break down.

When temperature increases voltage across diode with constant current?

The voltage across a semiconductor diode (and across the base/emitter junction of a transistor) decreases as temperature increases:  the actual figure is -2mV/°C.

A diode does what?

A diode is a semiconductor meaning it will conduct from anode to cathode if the anode is held positive. Reversing the polarity Will in effect block current flow.

What are the amount of voltage across the diode?

The amount of (forward biased) voltage across a diode is dependent on current and temperature. A typical silicon diode has a forward voltage of about 0.6V at low current and temperature. As current goes up, voltage goes up slightly, with a typical voltage being 1.4V at high current. As temperature goes up, voltage goes down slightly, but the maximum current rating also goes down.
