Switch the ignition to "accessories" or "acc" (turn the key 1 click in the ignition)
with "err" displaying on the radio, leave the key in the ingnition for 1-3 hours.
"err" should now be replaced with "code" allowing you to enter the correct code a and unlock the radio
Take your car to the Nissan dealers they can locate the security code for the radio by the VIN number from the car.
Ring Nissan Australia on 1800 035 035 , tell them the vin number and they will give you the code over the phone
Most late 90s Nissan stuff has a 'how long have I been flashing Err' timeout. Turning it off will not help. Nor will removing power again. It actually needs to be left on for an hour or two flashing 'Err', before the Code entry will be possible again. So just leave it flashing at you for a day or so when you drive it, it will ask you for the code again soon enough. The "Err" message, basically means that you took too many goes at entering the code.
if you input one or two incorrect pin. err will flash in the display. after two seconds code will reappear in the display. after three incorrect attempts you will need to wait for 60 minutes, with err displayed before trying again.
you need the radio code specific to that radio. err means error. it will be either in the owners manual at the front or it maybe somewhere in the audio booklet. failing that you probably have to ring up ford for the radio code.Alternatively, when the display shows a flashing "err" you have entered an incorrect code three times - this method might fix it.Note: You'll still need the correct radio security code...Switch the ignition to accessorory mode (first stop), and LEAVE IT until it changes to "code"- this can take anything from 20-80 minutes.Enter the radio security code.Worked for me!Good luck!
The code needed to reset the radio is the model number on top of the radio. The you must call a Honda dealer to get the code. If you are the original owenr or have the owners manual, the code may be in the written in the manual. i need to know how to enter the code on the radio the radio reads ERR 3
"err" usually means "error", but then again "to err is human".
If you have an err code on the display you need to enter a 4-digit number provided just for your radio. If you cannot locate it in your owners book, call your local dealer with the VIN and they should be able to provide you with the radio code.
I have never seen the code 555. Did you disconnect the battery or replace it? Are you sure you are not seeing ERR? If you have attempted to insert the code multible times and failed your radio will lock up with the ERR code displayed. Drive the car for 1 hour with the radio on and it will reset and allow you to enter the correct code. If you do not have the code then you need to go to the Honda Owners webiste and register your Civic. IF you have the VIN#, and are registered with Honda, you can go to their website https://radio-navicode.honda.com/. You will need to enter your VIN#, registered phone number and zip code as well as your radio/nav serial number (retrieval process detailed above). The site walks you through the inputs and if successful, then spits either your radio code or nav code.
In order to clear the radio code "ERR-3" in a Honda Accord, you simply open the hood and remove the radio fuse (there are two of them so remove the one closest to the car window) for about 10-15 seconds, put it back in and close the box, crank up the car and enter the vehicles radio code(this is usually located on a white card when you first purchase the vehicle or possibly in your glove compartment in the manual), make sure you enter the code correctly, and then the error will be removed and you can start playing music in your car! If you do not have the code then go to the Honda Owners website and register your Accord. After you register it you can get the code for free.
Switch the radio on and go for a run or a shopping trip. After several minutes the message 'err code' will switch to 'code'. enter the code via the left and right arrows (the numbers will be displayed on the radio) after each correct number display press the '1' on the radio to move to the next number. When all 4 numbers are set it will automatically start the radio.
