Evap canister and valve 1998 Nissan pathfinder?
The evap canister is located under the vehicle close to the fuel tank. The canister is charcoal filled and holds fumes from the tank.
I am looking for the same thing, but 2001. My pathfinder getting overheat after about 10 minutes of driving, however when it is idling on parking the temperature stays perfect. I found one thing that look like a bleeder valve in 2001 pathfinder. It is located right behind the engine, look like a straw with a rubber cap on it.

To replace all of the rubber molding on a 1998 Nissan Pathfinder, a person will need to purchase a special glue along with the rubber molding. This can be purchased at the local automotive parts store. The rubber molding is usually sold in a kit for specific areas on the car, like the rear door hatch. Some rubber molding might have to be purchased through the manufacturer of the vehicle.
I have a Nissan pathfinder 1998 it is almost the same as 1996, the mechanic flushed the transmission out and filled it with 4 and 3/4 quarts. But if you are only filling without flushing the entire fluid, my advise is to fill slowly and check the level every 1/4 of quart until you reach the level without overfilling.
My canister was in the Left Rear fender well. Right behind the taillight. You must jack the car up, remove the LR wheel, then using your 4 foot long left arm, feel behind the tail light. Most often the hoses are dry and loose fitting. Replace them if you can. You should also replace the valve on top of the canister because once you replace the canister, you will probably never visit this area of…
The EGR valve on the 4.3l Vortec motors is located directly in front of the thermostat housing , near the front of the motor. Both items are located near the front of the intake manifold. Follow the coolant feed line back the to water neck/thermostat housing, the EGR valve will be the 3" canister-style object in front of that.
