Extinct volcanoes aren't erupting currently, or aren't considered as likely to erupt in the future. For they aren't known to have a lava supply any longer. Examples of extinct volcanoes are many of the Hawaiian island volcanoes, and the Paricutin volcano in the Mexican state of Michoacan. But scientists aren't always sure whether a volcano actually is extinct, or just dormant. For example, Vesuvius hadn't erupted in so long that the Romans of A.D. 79 had no warning of its eruption, and no defense against its destruction of the towns of Herculaneum and Pompeii. The same mistake was made in 1995, about the Sourfriere Hills volcano on the island of Montserrat; and in 2006, about the Fourpeaked Mountain volcano in Alaska.
A volcano which has not erupted in the last 2000 years.
dormant volcanoes
dormant volcanoes are not as active as active volcanoes, but can erupt unexpectedly. the only volcanoes that we know when will erupt for sure are extinct volcanoes, because they will never erupt again.
We don't know. We can only catalog the volcanoes we know about. There are probably more dormant volcanoes, especially under the ocean, that we haven't found yet.
Yeak Laom is a dormant volcano located in Cambodia. In China, three dormant volcanoes are Jingpo, Laohei and Huoshao, and in Japan, there is Mt. Shiretoko.
Dormant volcanoes don't erupt.
lis down the dormat volcanoes
Active volcanoes and dormant volcanoes both have a likely chance to erupt and have erupted in the past.

there more than 700 hundred dormant volcanoes in England

There are 49 volcanoes in Auckland and 48 active ones but I don't know how many dormant volcanoes there are in Auckland.
there are three and they are Active Volcanoes, Dormant Volcanoes, and Extinct Volcanoes.
Some volcanoes are active, while others are dormant.
