Explain the role of the US in the emerging global community?

For many in the United States, the idea of globalization is negative. Many U.S. companies are outsourcing products AND services in order to remain competitive, many U.S. companies have had to close, or at least move the majority of their manufacturing outside the United States, and indeed, the idea that the American worker was the best, most knowledgably, and most skilled is no longer the case. In addition, by having global economies this gave all businesses the ability to market their goods and services world wide. Also, many have developed partnerships and formed alliances, new manufacturing plants, and relationships. Moreover, prior to globalization, the United States dominated the world wide economy. However, the American share of the global economy has decreased to 20% with the trend expected to continue with the growth of many countries that have recently become industrialized. However, this does not mean that the United States can no longer compete in the global economy with good or services, but this means that the older paradigm of post World War II must evolve and become more globally adaptive.
