For your information, the Frontenac was built by the Canadian Pacific Railway and opened in 1893, The place was named after the Governor of the French colony of New France in the 1600's. The architecture is magnificent. Amongst many famous visitors, the world leaders stayed there in 1943 to discuss to strategy of the second world war. The hotel offers a spectacular view of the St Lawrence River for several miles and is built near the Plains of Abraham, an area made famous by General Wolfe who defeated the French at that place. Several films have used the hotel as a location and it has the honour of being the most photographed hotel in the world. Current valuation is in excess of CAN$185 million. This is a very short description of the hotel which answers the question ' a famous Quebec Hotel'.
