∙ 15y agoFilipino parents are usually immigrate to the United States in their early twenties and thirties. Therefore, some Filipino parents believe in their traditional values and beliefs. As in every family, there are different types of father's and mother's. The father is usually the hard-working, stern type and the mother is the more passive and the understandable one. A Filipino father believes in hard work and working with his hands. A Filipino mother will usually cook and be the most religious one in the family. A Filipino family enjoys cooking and eating a lot, especially Filipino food. If you go to a Filipino household, the person will almost more than likely-offer you a bite to eat. Filipino's have a close-knit bond with their uncles, aunts and cousins-you can usually find them at a Filipino family party on Saturday's and Sunday's. And since most Filipino's are Catholic, they attend mass at a Catholic church ever Sunday.

1. Close family ties - Filipinos care for their family so much. Putting their elders in homes for the aged isn't in their minds. They are also fond of family reunions.
2. Respectful to parents and elders- Filipinos use words to show respect like "po" or "opo". They even address their neighbors or even strangers, "manong" or "manang", "kuya" or "ate", "sir" or "ma'am."
3. A feeling of belonging is very evident- When a child is in danger, he shouts, "Mama!" or "Mommy!"
4. The kids have a basic sense of security.
5. The parents really tried their best to give the highest standard of education if possible to their kids.
