Thermal Energy
The mass has quite a big influence on the kinetic energy, cause its a factor in the formula: 1/2mv2
Thermal energy is pretty much the heat in an object. However different parts of the object can have different temperatures, so thermal energy is the average of all that. The formula for thermal energy is: q(change in the thermal energy) = m(mass) x c(specific heat (the amount of energy needed to raise 1 kg of an object 1 K)) x delta t(change in temperature)
The formula for thermal energy is mc(deltaT) equals thermal energy, which means that multiplication of change in temperature by mass and specific heat gives you the thermal energy.

from what i can find, it is only possible fro chemical energy to be transfered to thermal energy. burning wood is one example of this.
Simply use conservation of energy. The change in an object's thermal energy is equal to any heat (thermal) energy that gets into the object, minus any heat energy that gets out of the object. If you have energy conversion, such as chemical reactions, you need to account for the increase or reduction of heat energy due to those reactions, as well.
Almost directly. Kinetic energy can be converted to thermal energy quickly by rubbing your hands together. You can convert thermal energy to kinetic energy by popping some popcorn. The efficiency of a kinetic machine like, for instance, a motor, is measured by how much heat it gives off. The hotter it gets, the more kinetic energy is lost as thermal energy and the less efficient the motor is.

some examples of thermal energy you could find in your home are light bulbs, microwaves, and even you can make thermal energy when you walk across a carpet in socks, creating friction.
