Albert Einstein worked out the Theory of General Relativity between 1905 and 1919. General Relativity is, as the name suggests, a more generalized extension of Special Relativity, which described the relationship between motion, space, and time, but did not include the effects of gravitation. General Relativity includes Gravitation, but is thought to be incomplete because its rules apply only to the macro universe, and fall apart at the subatomic level.
The general theory of relativity was published by Albert Einstein in 1915. The theory threw the world for a loop, because it broke widely from Newton's theory of gravitation. The theory of special relativity was also proposed by Einstein in 1905. Both theories sought to better explain the rules of gravity and time.
Galileo Galile wrote "the Theory of Relativity", and Einstein wrote the General theory of relativity and the special theory of relativity.
Sir Isaac Newton came up with the theory of universal gravitation. Newton's theory was later superseded by Einstein's theory of general relativity, but is still useful when studying the effects of gravity.

There's no such thing as an official theory. The classical theory of general relativity is the one that Einstein invented.
