∙ 11y agoWarm water (76-82 F) with plenty of open surface area and some plants to explore/rest on. They can live in fairly shallow water because they breathe air directly from the surface and not through the water, but contrary to what you see in stores they come from wide open flooded fields, not tiny puddles. That only happens when it's the dry season and many die, so don't keep it in anything less than a 1 gal. tank at least.
