It depends where you live. In Iowa, it is illegal to domesticate a wild animal, I think that that is how it is in most of the U.S., but I'm not sure.
Actually, in the US, it IS legal to own a pet fox. Some states have bans on the animals, but there are many who allow this exotic pet. Breeders all around the country breed domestic foxes for pets.
"No, Red Foxes are wild animals and should not be considered as pets because it takes many generations to domesticate a wild animal. For instance, it took almost 15,000 years to tame cats and dogs. There is a facility in Russia that bred foxes to be tame by breeding the ones that don't show aggression towards humans. At this time, however, there is no resource for purchasing and owning a tame red fox."
What the previous answer said is not correct. Red foxes can make good pets for responsible, knowledgeable, and patient people. Foxes have been considered domesticated for years now in the US and comes in all sorts of color morphs and species. There are breeders throughout the world (such as I). Foxes require extensive knowledge and research before owning, so be sure to do that if you're considering one as a pet.
Yes. Hundreds of people around the US have many different species of fox as pets.

an adult is to big for a red fox to kill but maybey an old, sick, weak, ingured,or a fawn or young adult might be good bait for a red fox
You may own a pet fox, be it a red or fennec fox but you need a license to do so & the fox must be from a breeder, not taken from the wild.
It is my understanding that foxes are not allowed as pets anywhere in Australia.
it could be a pet
She said her favorite pet is her pet cat.
A Red Fox Would Win Because It Is Bigger, Stronger, Heavier, Smarter And Quicker Than The Grey Fox. Also, The Grey Fox Does Not Have The Ability To Kill Animals By Doing That Nasty Bite Turn On The Neck That Red Foxes Sometimes Do. But Grey Foxes Are Suprisingly Good Climbers. If The Grey Fox Had A Chance To Get Up A Tree And The Red Fox Left. The Grey Fox Would Get Away.
