I'm certain that it will never be torn down! A great deal of effort has been put into preserving it. It is a world treasure, and is part of one of the most beautiful architectural groupings of buildings on earth. Workman to Architect: "I dunno, Leonardo...I still think there's a soft spot on that side, there." It's a grand Tourist Attraction and can be seen from trains pasing by in daytime. It is slowly sinking on that soft side, in spite of efforts to stop in and eventually, when its degree of tilt goes far enough past level, it will fall down by itself and if they are smart, they will cut it up into small souvenir pieces and sell it to Tourists one small piece at a time, like the Germans did with the collapsed Berlin Wall. Someone might even buy it now, on condition that it remain in possession of the current owners UNTIL it falls down and then the buyer may take possession of it and then begin to chop it up. Lacking morals, they might even "salt the mine" and bring in other similar stone to chop up and NEVER run out of materials to sell off.. (It could happen.)
Over the years since the tower began to lean, its foundation have had several schemes designed to stabilise the foundation and prevent the lean going further. The lean is a tourist attraction. Hopefully, the lean will not increase further, forcing the tower to collapse.
No, it is still standing and now you can walk to the top. It was closed in 1990 because the lean had gotten so bad, but they worked on it and I guess have stopped it from leaning further.
nope the leaning tower has its name for a reason
they call it that because it is a leaning tower so if they changed that it would need a new name.
IF it were left to the forces of nature, it likely would fall. However, work has been going on for years to stabilize the tower and keep it from falling.
