Actually...most physicians transfuse at a hemoglobin of less than 8. That is my threshold for transfusion. If a patient's Hemoglobin drops below 8 they are not properly oxygenating blood to end organs, so transfusion benefits outweight risks.
No. Personality - in humans or in animals - is dependent on dozens of factors, but nothing that can be exchanged in a blood transfusion.

"Jehovah's Witnesses" is what we are called. And we believe blood is sacred and should not be given away. However, some Jehovah's Witnesses do give and receive blood. It is a moral problem.
Hemoglobin. It carries oxygen from the respiratory organs to the rest of the body where it releases the oxygen to provide energy to power functions of the body, and then collects the carbon dioxide to take back to the respiratory organs to be dispensed from the body.
Blood tests are usually done before getting a blood transfusion. The test is called the ABO test and you need to take some blood to take it. You can buy a $10.00 test kit online.
the lung is where the hemoglobin take up the oxygen and the blood cells re-oxygenate
A blood transfusion is a donation of blood from one person to another. There is NO possibility of a transfer of personal characteristics.
Hemoglobin is the protein that, along with water, makes up a red blood cell. Hemoglobin is made from two substances, heme and globin. In order for hemoglobin synthesis to take place, two chains of globin must connect to one another. Without these chains, hemoglobin synthesis cannot happen.
Answer; I'll let my son die, cause of my belief to Jehovah witness..But...you got lot of question to answer to investigation. Brain dictates your decision not your feelings. in someday, you will realize, did I made a good decision to sacrifice my son, cause I am a Jehovah witness? people desrved to live not to die, without transfusion of blood to son you compare yourself in abortion. whatever..... EDIT: i will reject the blood transfusion and let him take an alternative to the blood transfusion. i would love my child and want him to live, thus i will make sure to request an alternative. however i will not go against God's law on blood. if he dies i am assured that he will have a chance to live again on Paradise Earth.
No. At 7.5 You should probably skip a dose of coumadin and take half the next day and be retested, but there is no need for a transfusion at 7.5. My dr. would give a dose of vitamin K at 10 and monitor closely, but it has to be pretty high for a transfusion...I would guess over 15.
The Red Blood Cells remove wastes from your cells.
Hemoglobin's purpose in a red blood cell is to carry oxygen. In fact almost all the oxygen in your blood is carried on hemoglobin. Hemoglobin is made of protein and iron, if you don't have enough hemoglobin it is called anemia. This is why people who take in no iron can become anemic.
