Answer: His real name is Victor Stone. He was the son of two scientists from "Star Labs." One day when he was just a teenager, an interdementional, gelatenous monster escaped from a portal during one of their experaments. Unfortunately, young Vic and his mother were attacked by the creature leaving Mrs. Stone dead and Victor badly maimed. Desperate to save his son's life, Mr. Stone fitted Vic with experimental prosthetics which did, indeed, saved his life, but at the cost of his highschool career and his athletic future. Victor's new body took some getting used to, but eventually he learned to live with it and he devoted his life to heroism.
