For the Fifth Generation, Autocar tested the 2000 Prelude, 185hp European variant, with Auto-shift transmission, at 7.9 seconds.

Based on this information, a US model (which adds 10 more hp) would probably accelerate to 60 mph between 7.6 to 7.9 seconds. This time range is in-line with the fact that the manual transmission Preludes are consistently measured to accelerate to 60 between 6.5 and 6.9 seconds, and data for other cars shows that automatics are usually about a second slower.

There are a few different estimates for the automatic 5th gens out there, and some of the variance can probably be explained by whether or not the tester's used sport-shift mode (which allows for higher shift points) for their runs, and whether or not VTEC engaged (the car has to be warmed up, or the car will not allow VTEC to engage). Considering a car with nearly 200hp , estimates as high as 8.5 seconds for the automatic, are likely to be inaccurate.
