For the old manual hand-pump styles...

  1. Open the handle and put your foot in the crotch and hold it to the floor. This will give you leverage to turn the cartridge chamber.
  2. At one end there should be a plunger handle that you can grab with two fingers. Notice the hole that the handle goes into. It has a notch. What you need to do is pull the plunger handle as far out as you can and if you succeeded you should be able to cock that plunger handle to the side and it will set in that notch which will alow us to put in a new tube of grease.
  3. Now, whle you're still holding the grease gun in your feet, unscrew the cartridge chamber from the oposite end of the plunger handle. Lefty-Loosey and so forth. These can be tough to get apart, but you should be able to do it with your bare hands and maybe a few grease rags.
  4. If you got the cartridge chamber off, stick your finger in the open end and grab the lip of the old cartridge. It should slide out easy, but some require a pair of pliers.
  5. Take your new tube of grease and pull off the plastic cap at one end. Now, insert it into the cartridge chamber just like the old one was. You should now be looking at a pull tab. Pull it off and reassemble the grease gun.
  6. If the cartridge chamber is tight then simply pump the grease gun until you get grease. It may require several pumps.

Hope this helps you out. Good Luck and Good Day!

How do you change grease in a grease gun?

A grease gun is useful in lubricating items in garages or workshops. Grease guns function like nail guns only that the latter is useful for driving nails instead of grease. The manual gun comes in two types, those that need a trigger to operate and those that don't need a trigger to operate. Some use air power to administer the grease. For a grease gun to function, you need to load it with grease or a lubricant.Although loading a grease gun is a simple affair, most people struggle a lot. The advantage of using grease over oil is that it doesn't leak easily.Consequently, refilling a grease gun is not similar to refilling machines that use oil as a lubricant. If you are operating a grease gun, it's essential to know how to load it properly for reliability and efficiency.Proper loading helps in averting the problem of under or over greasing, which may affect the lifespan of your grease gun. Below here, we'll share the procedure of loading a grease gun. Keep reading.

How do you fill a grease gun from a grease cartridge?

The grease guns I'm familiar with don't get "filled". The cartridge is just inserted into the gun; if it's not intuitively obvious to you how to do this you probably don't have the mechanical aptitude to be using a grease gun anyway.

Why does Hand grease gun loses its prime?

Grease is too thick to get all the air bubbles out during manufacture and packaging. The grease gun pump is designed to move thick liquid (grease). When a large air bubble gets into the grease gun's piston cylinder, your grease gun is now one of the world's smallest and most inefficient air pump. The remedy for this problem is the little button on the front cap of the grease gun next to the handle pivot or piston. It takes much more air pressure than the grease gun's piston and cylinder can create to move any grease with this small air bubble. Just imagine squeezing a car tire to the size of a doughnut with out popping it. Relieve the pressure of this air bubble and now you can vacuum in some grease behind it with the grease gun's piston and cylinder repriming the grease gun. Long answer short: airbubble.
