Each species of finch has a special beak adaptation.

The species are closely related, and their varied diets are closely reflected in the shapes of their beaks. For example, finches with large, powerful, deep beaks primarily eat seeds that are more difficult to open and are usually found on the ground. Some finches pick seeds out of cactus flowers; their beaks are slender and pointed. Those that eat insects have beaks that are even thinner.
