Most high pressure systems form due to descending air. This air pushes on the lower air, which increases the pressure there.

High pressure can also develop, when the air is cooled down very much (over the poles). Then the air is compressed and has a higher density, which increases the pressure.

Air pressure is created from the uneven heating of the Earth's surface. Warm air expands and creates pressure, cool air contracts and creates a vacuum.

What air pressure is formed when warm air rises?

Low pressure

Is air pressure formed by condensation?

no

How are current formed?

Wind currents form when air rushes from a high pressure cell to an area of lower pressure. Example: air rushing out of a puncture in a car tire)

Is wind formed by air masses that meet?

Wind is the result of pressure differences. These pressure differences can arise in a number of ways, including at fronts, where air masses meet.

When do land breezes and sea breezes form?

Breezes, or wind, are the movement of air particles. They are formed by the constant changes in temperature/pressure of the air. Take into account that when a high pressure front meets a low pressure front a storm appears.

How do low pressure systems form at fronts?

It's the movement of air. Once the air blows out, a rarefied region is created which is at low pressure. The surrounding air moves into this region creating another low pressure. Every low pressure is surrounded by comparatively high pressure region.

Does exposure to air help metamorphic rocks form?

No metamorphic rocks are formed deep in the crust under great temperature and pressure. No air is down there.

What is the weather term of how heavy the air is?

Air Pressure

How is low pressure are formed in cyclones?

Yes. Hurricanes are themselves intense low pressure systems. Tornadoes are a product of thunderstorms most often found in low pressure systems and the tornadoes themselves produce a very localized area of low pressure.

Why does High air pressure spin clockwise?

Because of the pressure gradient force and the Coriolis Force. Air is flowing away from the center of high pressure due to the pressure gradient that is formed by having higher pressure in the center and lower pressure outside. As it flows away, it is deflected to the right (in the northern hemisphere). This causes an apparent clockwise flow.

How is earths air pressure different from seas air pressure?

It is different in that the seas don't have air pressure. No air; no air pressure.

How does air pressure affect air movement?

Air pressure affects air movement because air moves from high pressure to low pressure. The air pressure pushes or will press the air around.
