There are multiple geological processes which result in the formation of hills. For example the Urals across Eurasia were once high mountains, but through millions of years eroded into the hill elevations they are today.

hills are created when it snows. When a thick layer of snow covers the ground a little stub of land forms. As more snow piles on top of it the hill grows bigger and bigger.
