∙ 14y agoLeafhoppers excrete a sugary sap that is collected by meat ants, which help to preserve or be a food source. Meat ants will protect leafhoppers so that they may collect the sap, forming a mutalistic relationship.

∙ 13y agoWorker leaf cutter ants collect leaves from trees in the rainforest, thus getting their name, and bring the leaves back to their colonies. However, the ants don't eat the leaves, the leaves are instead brought to an area in the ant hill where gardener ants feed the leaves to fungus growing there. When the fungus is big enough, the ants then eat the fungus.

∙ 9y agoThe caterpillar excretes honeydew solution that the ants feed on. In turn, the ants will take the caterpillar back to its nest. They will look after it over the winter. When warmer days come, the caterpillar pupates, crawls out of its nest, mates, and then lays eggs.
