On the Ford V8 engines the engine cylinders / spark plugs are numbered : passenger side , front to rear , 1 , 2 , 3 , 4 -----drivers side , front to rear , 5 , 6 , 7 , 8 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- On the 4.9 L straight 6 cylinder engine the cylinders / spark plugs are numbered : 1 to 6 , going from front to rear
On a 1999 Ford Ranger ( 3.0 and 4.0 litre V6 engines ) firewall 3 - 6 2 - 5 1 - 4 front of vehicle
