It depends where you live. I f you do not live in a hot country, it is most likely a banana won`t grow at all!I live in the sub tropics and can grow bananas. Banana plants like lots of organic material compost etc. I put lawn mower clippings a round mine. When a bunch is ready I cut the plant down. This makes room for the small plants coming up and it's easier to cut your bunch of bananas when the 'trunk' is on the ground.
