Fuel Tank Removal . The fuel pump is located inside the fuel tank. I believe that your model year also has the fuel level sending unit as part of the pump and the whole thing costs about $300 to $400. I have replaced inside-the-tank pumps before and they are not all that difficult on a vehicle as… new as yours. Buy a "Chiltons" or a "Haynes" (the latter is my preference) for about $20. The procedure is too lengthy to spell out here and the manual gives photo too (I have mine in front of me as I write). ( Full Answer )
Answer . I believe its on the underside of the vehicle on the passenger side, you have to take the right front tire off in order to access it, and would make your life much easier with a lift. The A-arm of the vehicle can be a big pain due to location, and the starter is not neccesarily the easy …part of the vehicle to get to. ( Full Answer )

Do you have to drop the gas tank to replace the fuel pump on a 1998 s10 blazer or is there another way to do this?
I'm not that familiar with the S-10, but, if the pump is in the tank, you've pretty much got to drop it.. It REALLY is not that intimidating once you get into it. Take off the holding strap and a couple of guys can just let it down easy. When you put it back up, it's real easy to disconnect the fue…l gauge sending unit. Just take it slow and easy and you should be done in a couple of hours. That a savings in labor of $120 - $150 over the local garage.. ( Full Answer )

The fuel gauge sensor is located in the fuel tank. The fuel gauge sensor and fuel pump are one assembly. To my knowledge they are sold as one unit and is fairly expensive. The fuel tank must be dropped to R&R the assembly.

I've done this once & need to do it again next week... It's a pain, not to bad but it's not pleasant. You need to drop the gas tank as it's inside... You first need to drop the spare tire so you have access to the fuel lines which you have direct access to with the tire off. You have to unclip all 3… of them (the plastic is very brittle) then have a jack under the gas tank to hold it in place once the straps are off the tank. Before lowering down the front of the tank there's a little black hose connected to another plastic connector which has to be taken off, it's small & semi-hard to get to but if you don't get it off it will break & you'll be stuck with a half done fuel pump job till you get a new one. It's job is to make sure the tank doesn't build up excess psi so it's important. Once the tank is down you need to use needle nose pliers to get the ring support off the top of the fuel pump then use a screwdriver or something to pry up on the fuel pump. When installing the new one make sure you have the gas line hook ups facing the same way as the one you just took off so when connecting it the lines will be able to connect. Then you connect the black hose on the front of the tank while raising it and once the tank is back up clip in all 3 hoses (in the right place) onto the fuel pump. ( Full Answer )
I had to replace the fuel pump twice. First time the vehiclewouldn't start. Worked like a charm after the replacement, untilthe fuel gauge sensor failed. Second pump I have put in worked fineuntil the vehicle started stalling randomly. Kicking the gas tankto start it helped for a while. Checked the …ground connection forthe pump and it was rusty. Sanded it down with some sand paper,50000 miles later still working fine. ( Full Answer )
slide in under the drivers side of the truck just behind the drivers set and look up inside of the frame rail and you will see it.
You have to pull tranny. it is sandwiched between that & block, but pretty straight forward.
NO there is not. Need to check fuel pump fuse and relay and make sure there working and if they are then check the wireing harness were it plugs into the top of the fuel tank sending unit, Chevy had a problem with the connector shorting out. Are you sure the fuel pump is OKAY/GOOD ?
there is not a solid way to patch the tank, the only way you can solve your problem is replace it!
First using compressed air, I would blow the dirt away from the area where the filler tube meets the fuel tank because you don't want ANY dirt getting into the tank. Then I would remove the filler tube by loosening the clamps and wiggling the hose off and out. From there you can side a long siphon h…ose down into the tank and siphon out the fuel into a suitable container. ( Full Answer )

What causes the fuel gauge to malfunction on 99 Chevy blazer even if you change the pump in the fuel tank?
Defected fuel pump sending unit. The #1 cause is that the sulfur in todays gas coats the fuel leveling sensor and causes the fuel gauge to act up. It is a common problem that is starting to take place.

1995 to 1998 S10 fuel pump relay is located in the glovecompartment behind the door marked "relays". It is the first relayon the left.
same as in any other vehicle,... make sure to remove any jewelry and watches first,... always remove the negative lead first,... that way if you do hit any metal with your wrench on the positive lead it wont ground out and complete the circuit giving you quite a jolt,... after negative lead is off, …remove positive lead, there will most likely be a bolt holding the battery to the tray, loosen it enough to slip the battery out,... then reverse the process installing the new battery, hook up the positive cable first, then the negative,... tighten hold down bolt,... BAM,... your done ( Full Answer )
