Well normally at it's full size you would need a 45-50 gallon tank which is what i use for my beardie Louie, because it gives them enough room to run around and be comfortable so i would not ever even waste my time getting a 40 gallon tank

We moved my bearded dragon up to his big tank when he was about a foot including his tail. So no bigger than that. But I think you need bigger tank than 40gallons. My dragons big tank is 500 gallons. He's about 2feet now and the tank still Looked small.

Hope this helped!

Is it bad to put a baby bearded dragon in a huge 75 gallon or larger tank?

Yes it is ! You should only house a reptile in a container suitable for its imediate needs. Small or younger reptiles need less space - giving them a huge tank would be like putting you in a huge appartment block all by yourself ! Start with a small enclosure and increas as the bearded dragono grows bigger !

Can a bearded dragon live in a 100 gallon tank?

Absolutely. My adult male bearded dragon lives alone in a 100 gallon (6ft long, 2ft high, 18in deep) tank and he is thriving. With that large of a tank, you will need a 150 watt basking bulb, full spectrum UVB, and lots of logs and hides to give him options.

Bearded Dragons under 10 inches can be housed in a 20 gallon tank. This will only last a few months as they grow quickly.

How big of habitat do you have to have for a bearded dragon to live happily in your home?

An adult bearded dragon should live in at least a 30gallon breeder tank because there needs to be a hot end and a cool end, and the deep ones works best. I have my bearded dragon in a 55gallon tank and it's narrow but still works.

How much gallon tank do you need for your bearded dragon to become fully grown?

Your bearded dragon will become fully grown regardless of the size of the enclosure, provided you properly meet its needs for food, UVB, heat, and hides, but a MINIMUM of a 60 gallon sized tank would be recommended for the adult lizard to be free of stress and have enough room to be comfortable. Bigger is, of course, better.

What watt do you have to have in a 55 galon tank for a bearded dragon?

A 150 watt bulb should do the trick. A bearded dragon needs about 95F to 105F in the basking spot and 75F to 85F in the cool end of the tank.

How well does exo terra glass terrarium work for bearded dragons?

The largest Exo Terra tank measures only 24 inches long. Bearded dragons generaly reach around 20 inches in length.....so in my opinion the exo terra tanks are too small for bearded dragons, I would suggest a 40 gallon "breeder" style tank as the smallest tank for a bearded dragon.
