Many cities are now doing things that countries are not.

Cities are:

  • Improving and encouraging the use of public transport, bicycling and other low-emission forms of transport.
  • Passing laws discouraging driving and parking cars in cities.
  • Reducing electricity use by installing solar PV panels on city buildings.
  • Installing and encouraging the use of tri-generation in city blocks. (Tri- and co-generation means the production of electricity using a low emission-fuel (gas or bio-fuel). Heat waste from the process is used for heating in nearby buildings and pools, and to provide air-conditioning and hot water.)
