Because it can pull down water from lets say ..........rivers and it can create canyons,sand dunes,valleys, and other types of landforms. Gravity can pull down water in a huge force and make peices of different hardend sediment or tough rock break off and create the landforms that I listed above

Without gravity, water would not carry sediments, wind would not carry sediments, and ice would not flow carrying sediments. Erosion is the movement of sediments from one place to another place.

Gravity pulls the rocks, soil and dirt downward which causes erosion. When water mixes with dirt, it becomes mud and the mud isn't able to support itself against the gravity.
