Kids can make money in lot's of ways. Typically, a child over the age of 12 would be looking for a job. Here is a list of activities that a child or youth could do to make money:

1. Wash cars for neighbors.

2. Make handmade cards and sell them.

3. Make handmade jewelry and sell them.

5. Dog Sitting

6. Get a paper route

8. Open a lemonade stand. Sell home made lemonade on hot days.

10. Babysit your little brother or sister, or a friend of your parent's!

12. Water your neighbors plants while they are on holiday

18.Shovel Snow. in the winter ask neighbours if they want their paths cleared of snow and only charge a small price.

20. Help elderly people put away their shopping.

21. Tutor - if you are good at a subject in school example Maths put up flyers and anyone that is not so good at it might ask for your help.

How can kids make money?

1. Lemonade Stand:

  • Cost- about 25-75 cents a cup
  • Make- A really good eye-catching sign
  • Have- everything made and ready

TIP- Usually it's good to make a yard sale with it to make more money.

2. Mowing lawns:

  • Cost- about $5-$10 per lawn (or depending on how big or small the lawn is).
  • Make- a really good impression when you ask them if they want their lawn mowed
  • Have- a good lawn mowing experience

TIP- Go for the smaller yards first then work your way up.

3. Yard Sale:

  • Cost- about how much you think each item should be.
  • Make- really reasonable prices or no one will buy.
  • Have- a really good variety of items.

TIP- Be really nice to the costumers and stretch the truth a bit. *Ex. A lady asks you if a pair of sandals can be washed. You say they can when your not sure if they can be washed or not*

4. Raking Leaves:

  • Cost- about $5-$10 per rake (or depending on how many leaves there are)
  • Make- A good impression and a kind one when you ask them if they need their yard raked. (Be nice to them and don't get nervous).
  • Have- a rake, trash bag(s), and really good non-laziness

TIP- Make sure you study the yard before you rake it. Maybe it's too much for you and you want to work with the smaller yard first because you don't want to stop raking in the middle of a yard.

5. Shoveling Snow:

  • Cost- about $5-$10 per sidewalk, porch, steps, or driveway (or depending how much snow is piled up.
  • Make- a good impression when you ask them/ Don't be mean or get nervous.
  • Have- a sturdy shovel and non-laziness

TIP- Do not do this alone! Have friend(s) or family member(s) help you out. If a driveway, porch, steps, or sidewalk are piled up too much, there is no way you would be able to do this by yourself!

6. Walking Dogs:

  • Cost- about $2-$5 per half hour. (or depending on how many miles you walked)
  • Make- a good exercise course as you go. *Ex. Run with the dog*
  • Have- a good strength ability (in case the dog tries to run)

TIP- Ask the owner if the dog is tame/has a good temper around strangers. Please take this advice!!

7. Babysitting:

  • Cost- about $10-$30 a babysit (or $5-$20 per hour). Yes, babysitting professional is way more than this.
  • Make- a good attitude to the child/children and the parent/guardian
  • Have- a good experience (2-5 years) because if you don't the parent/guardian WILL NOT let you babysit their child/children

TIP- This is a rare job for a 10-15 year old. Sometimes they do not let you babysit because you are way too young. This is just an idea. Try your best.

These are just ideas that came from the top of my head because I have done them all. I made money off doing these things. These are the most simple things that came from the top of my head and I'm only 12 years old. (March 15th, 2010)

It depends on how old a kid is for making money. If the child is under 16, then things such as selling cookies or lemonade is a good idea. Babysitting is another option. If a child is older than 16, then I suggest getting a job at a movie theater or somewhere like that.
