Their are two methods to cleaning a glass chandelier. One is called the Dry Method and the other is the Wet Method. This is what you do for the dry method. 1. Make sure the light is off and the bulbs are cool before you get started. 2. Set the ladder up so that it is sturdy. Be sure that it is high enough to comfortable reach the chandelier. 3. Start at the top and work your way around the fixture, moving from top to bottom and from the inside out. 4. Spray Windex on one cloth to polish the cleaned glass. 6. Clean or replace microfiber cloths when they become dirty.

How To Clean A Chandelier Light Fixture?

Chandeliers are one of the most eye-catching and elegant light fixtures; they are also one of the most difficult fixtures to clean. In order to keep a chandelier sparkling, it is important to clean it once or twice per year. Over time, the dust that builds up on the metal will cause tarnishing. In more humid climates, humidity and dust mixed together will create a grimy substance that is hard to remove. This article will discuss a few simple steps to keep a chandelier looking new and sparkling like a diamond.1. Clean The Metal ComponentsIt is important to first clean the metal components of the chandelier. Some very extravagant chandeliers may be made of silver, gold or other precious metals. Silver should always be cleaned with a special substance designed for silver, as this will help avoid tarnishing. Mix a small amount of baking soda and water in a dish. Using a toothbrush, apply some of the mixture to the metal components and scrub thoroughly. Many chandeliers are delicate, so it is important not to scrub too hard.2. Clean The Glass Or CrystalWhether glass or crystal is the material comprising the chandelier, it is best to use either glass cleaner or a mixture of household ammonia and water to clean the clear components. Use a non-abrasive rag, such as a piece from an old cotton t-shirt to rub the cleaner on the pieces thoroughly. For households where smoking takes place indoors, chandeliers should be sprayed generously with glass cleaner, then scrubbed. Smoke often leaves a film on crystal and glass that is difficult to remove. Chandeliers that have etched glass designs on the side should be scrubbed very carefully. Units that include small long chains of glass or crystal beads should also be cleaned with care. To clean these, simply wet the gentle rag with cleaner and, holding it in the palm, rub the beads gently.Tighten & HangAny loose attachment pieces in the chandelier should be tightened with a pair of pliers; this will ensure they will not fall off. After the unit has been inspected and loose ends tightened, carefully rehang the chandelier.

How do you clean a chandelier?

Disconnect the chandelier from the power supply. Place a thick blanket on the floor under the fixture, which will soften the fall should you accidentally drop a crystal prism. Climb the stepladder and remove all the bulbs in the chandelier that can be removed without using tools. Clean in sections. Carefully remove the crystals from a section of the chandelier, and place them on the first towel. Wipe and buff the frame. Reassemble the fixture, being careful not to twist the chandelier too much, since doing this can loosen it from the ceiling.
