I can add, that if you use common hair spray (aerosol) spray the spot, blot, spray and then blot, you will see the stain coming up. That works on carpet and upholstery as well.
Inknix is an ink remover that you purchase from an office supply store, choose a small local store to support our small businesses. Call to see if they stock it. If not, they can normally they can get it from their wholesaler and have it the next morning.

I'm pretty sure the hand sanitizer called Germ-x removes sharpie. I know its hand sanitizer but I'm not 100% sure :\
bleach...if its on glass windex...windex works on fabric too some times too. depending on the color.
Sharpie cannot be removed from paper. If your gonna make a mistake, why use a sharpie in the first place?

I have never heard of baking soda used on sharpie stains. But, I do know that denatured alcohol will break down the sharpie stains, but you will need some tide or shout spot treatment after using the denatured alcohol to pull out the stain. It worked for me!
