They are all together in the holy trinity. I've been taught my whole life to believe this. I've never actually thought about this.

Another Answer:

The Bible never puts the three together as one - except in an erroneous addition in the New Testament in 1 John 5:7 in some older translations. Scripture says:

John 10:30New King James Version (NKJV)

30 I and My Father are one."

God's Holy Spirit is often called 'My Spirit' and is also known as the Spirit of Christ. It is usually referrenced to His Power sustaining life and is compared to wind, fire, a dove but never a person. Christ tells us He is in the Father and the Father is in Him. He further tells us that if we repent and follow Him, God will place His Holy Spirit in us - begetting us like Christ was begotten. Then we too will be in God - a Family.

John 17:20-23a NIV

Jesus Prays for All Believers

20 "My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, 21 that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me. 22 I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one--- 23 I in them and you in me---so that they may be brought to complete unity.

From the preceding verses Jesus clearly prayed to his Father that all Christians be "one as we are one" meaning that all Christians are to be united in purpose.

Compare to 1 Corinthans 1:10 "I appeal to you, brothers and sisters, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree with one another in what you say and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly united in mind and thought."

Another Answer:

The concept of 3 persons or trinity to describe God is not Scriptural. TheNew Bible Dictionary:

"The term 'Trinity' is not itself found in The Bible. It was first used by Tertullian at the close of the 2nd century, but received wide currency [common use in intellectual discussion] and formal elucidation [clarification]only in the 4th and 5th centuries"

(1996, "Trinity").

Continuing in the New Bible Dictionary:"the formal doctrine of the Trinity was the result of several inadequate attempts to explain who and what the Christian God really is ... To deal with these problems the Church Fathers met in [A.D.] 325 at the Council of Nicaea to set out an orthodox biblical definition concerning the divine identity." However, it wasn't until 381, "at the Council of Constantinople, [that] the divinity of the Spirit was affirmed" (ibid.).

The Bible consistantly describes the Godhead as the Father and Son only - both spiritual beings. Scripture calls the power that sustains all things emitted from the God Family as 'My Spirit or the Spirit of Christ.' Never as a 3rd person:

Acts 2:17

New King James Version (NKJV)

17‘And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God,

That I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh;

Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,

Your young men shall see visions,

Your old men shall dream dreams.

In the bible the son calls the Father my God so where does the son also call the holy ghost my God and where does the Father call either the son or the holy ghost my God?

It is true that Jesus calls the Father "my God." The Son does not also call the Holy Ghost my God and the Father does not call the Holy Ghost my God. The Father does call the Son "O God." Hebrews 1:8 Lack of reference to one another as "My God" does not mean the Son and the Holy Spirit aren't also God, as your question implies. The Bible says: # There is only one God, the Father - Ephesians 4:6 One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all. # Jesus is God. Note John 1:1-3 In the Beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. # The Holy Spirit is God. Note that Romans 1:4 calls Him "the Spirit of Holiness." And Job 33:4 says The spirit of God hath made me, and the breath of the Almighty hath given me life. # Furthermore, they are all identified as having one name. Jesus instructed His disciples to "Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name [singular] of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:" Matthew 28:19

Do Catholics believe that Father son and hOly ghost is one person?

I do not believe in the holy ghost, but I do believe in the Holy Spirit, that is because I know Him personally. To even mention the word ghost when referring to the Holy Spirit is a sin against my master who is the Holy Spirit. When using the word ghost you are referring to someone or thing that has lived and died. My master the Holy Spirit always was and always will be. As His apostle I am here to interpret Gods Words to mankind before their deaths so they can have the choice of salvation or damnation. More teachings of the Holy Spirit can be found on His website Holy Spirit of God .net God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit are One God, and I have spoken to each one of Them vocally and have been answered back by Them vocally.
